Federal Government at the weekend, said that it has put in place every infrastructure to promote the exportation of solid minerals and agriculture produce through the seaports.
Managing Director of Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA), Ms Hadiza Bala Usman, who made the announcement at the 10th Nigeria international Maritime Ports and Terminals Expo and Conference (NIMPORT 2017) in Lagos said that the current management of NPA is working in tandem with the establishments and firms outside the country to ensure a most robust relationship for increased bilateral trade ties on a mutual basis.
“Indeed, the current management of NPA in synergy with the establishments and firms outside the country are working together to ensure a most robust relationship for increased bilateral trade ties on a mutual beneficial bases
“As we embrace the change mantra of the Federal Government as well as the window of ease of doing business, I call upon us to ensure that these policies of government are fully embraced in the actualization of our desire of a hub in Africa South of the Sahara” she said.
Government is equally working assiduously at ensuring the deployment of current technologies such as ICT automation and Command Control Communication and Intelligence Unit (CCCI) and the Revenue Invoice Management Systems (RIMS) series which would ensure swift financial transactions and the blocking of revenue leakages at the ports.
