Flour Mills of Nigeria Plc has said it plans to donate delivery vans to its key distributors across the country.
The Head of Sales, Business-to-Business Department, Paul Udochi, disclosed this while speaking at the 2017/18 Customers’ Forum in Lagos on Thursday.
According to him, the company is taking time out to appreciate its top business-to-business and business-to-consumers customers.
He said key distributors across the country would be given vehicles to support logistics and re-distribution efforts.
“We are looking at medium-sized durable trucks, to make sure they are useful to the customers. These trucks would be distributed across 17 categories of our distributors, and the trucks would also be in varying categories,” Udochi added.
He stated that although the purchase of the vans came at a cost to the company, they would be given to the distributors for free.
He said the donations were a way of showing customers that they were appreciated and valued.
Udochi noted that the company deemed it fit to give the trucks to distributors because they had invested in the business and had remained with them even in tough times.
He stated that 80 per cent of the company’s business was driven by distributors, adding that it was necessary to show appreciation to them and give them a sense of belonging to enable their businesses to thrive better.
The Managing Director, Foods, Flour Mills of Nigeria, Delvin Hainsworth, said the company planned to increase partnerships in 2018, and consolidate on existing ones to increase sales and create a win-win situation for all parties.
He said regardless of the situation of the economy, the company would ensure the availability of products to people at affordable rates.
He added that the partnerships with customers gave them the assurance that better products would be made available to the consumers at cheap rates without compromising on the quality.
