In line with the Sustainable Development Goals 3, Seplat Petroleum Development Company Plc has reinvigorated its safe motherhood project in Delta State.

Speaking at this year’s edition of the initiative in Sapele, Seplat’s  General Manager, External Affairs and Communications, Dr. Chioma Nwachuku, said that access to delivery kits, mosquito nets, distribution of supplements and vitamins as well as the one-on-one consultations received by pregnant women in the communities had helped to reduce maternal deaths.

At the event, doctors from the Delta State University Teaching Hospital, Oghara, educated mothers on modern safe pregnancy and delivery practices, as well as dangers in pregnancy and child sexual abuse.
